These products meet FDA 21 CFR, EU framework 1935/2004 and EU regulation 10/2011 requirements for direct food contact applications. This grade of EPS contains an additive that enables biodegradation under anaerobic conditions similar to those found in biologically active landfills. Using the ASTM D5511-11 test method, products made from this material have shown to degrade 92% over 4 years under conditions that simulate both wetter and biologically active landfills. This product is not certified to degrade in less than one year. Please contact your local county or municipality to determine your local recycling options.
